Owltober 19: Blathers

Maybe next Owltober I won’t be sick! There are four more owls in the works and that’s it for Owltober for me. I feel bad that I fell behind, but I best get back to the daily sketches on this blog soon.

For those not in the know, Blathers runs the local museum here in Wild World. He has a fear of bugs.

Owltober 18: Owlbama

The 44th President!

Owlfactory 17: Candyfloss

Candyfloss is one of our two adopted children. Her sister is a small ceramic cat that wears eye shadow named Yella Fevah, who was purchased in a thrift store/Hot Topic combo in Richmond, Virginia. Candyfloss came all the way from China to California, where she was adopted and then sent to New Zealand.

Candyfloss loves to eat butterscotch and also to be held. She was part of a litter of 500 and her birth mother is Anna Chambers.

Owltober 16: Owlderly

The Owlderly owls are professional birdwatchers, often taking to the trees to make detailed hand-written notes in triplicate to be faxed to anyone who will listen (e-mail and text messages are considered annoyances). He is more like your nosy neighbourhood watch owl, keeping an eye out for those untrustworthy “orange beaks”.

The greatest talent of the Owlderly is its ability to craft eye glasses out of pinecones and discarded pieces of old milk cartons. This work is often done under the cover of night, so no human has ever witnessed this miraculous transformation. Their natural pose is indignation.
