Before we’d decided on a story I drew him as a poodle, but it looks really off, like too much stuff has been stuck onto him.

I really want to do a short comic starring a 1940s dog. Frank helped with the idea, we want it to be a beagle abandoned by its hunter owner in the forest. He now lives in the forests and helps animals with their problems. It will probably just be a 10 pag story, but I really want to do VERY detailed paintings of the forest just to branch out a bit (sorry fo the pun). More pictures of him to come!!!
This was a recent commission. I have a ton of sketches, but I am off to Los Angeles on May 26th and finding a few spare hours to scan is a luxury I don’t quite have at the moment. I hope I can do it! So much to do, so little time!
I’ll be making appearances at the MoCCA Art Festival in New York (June 6 & 7), HeroesCon in Charlotte (June 19-21) and San Diego Comic Con (July 22-26). Booth numbers and more details will be forthcoming, but if you are in town, mark those dates! I look forward to meeting you all!
I wanted to draw people that resembled animals like in the beginning of 101 Dalmations.
